About the Program:
Our goal as early childhood educators is to provide a warm, safe and loving environment where children can learn to feel good about themselves, develop socially through play and interaction with their peers in a group setting and foster optimal development for their individual ages and abilities. Emphasis is placed on cognitive, social, emotional and physical development for each child.
We are inspired by the Reggio Emilia educational philosophy, which puts the child’s natural development and their close relationship with their environment at the center of its philosophy. Our approach is child-directed, meaning teachers and staff facilitate the children’s learning by planning activities and projects based on the children’s interests, asking questions for further understanding and becoming a co-learner and collaborator with the children rather than simply observing. Children are introduced to various activities that include: art, music and movement, dance, cooking, reading, math readiness and science. They are able to make their own choices within a structured, yet flexible, schedule.
