About the Program:
Corazón is the Spanish word for Heart. It is also an homage to my daughter, Cora. The last 7 years of working in early childhood education while parenting a young child have brought me an intimate understanding of patience, humility, and wonder of the world around us. It was our experiences in various preschool settings that led me on a journey to execute my vision - a vision shared by many preschool teachers - of creating a space that feels like home, where children can explore and learn using an inquiry-based method, where play leads to discovery. Our curriculum takes inspiration from Nature, from the Reggio Emilia philosophy of learning, and from Children's Yoga and Mindfulness.
We are a home-based preschool tucked at the end of a street in a quiet South Austin neighborhood, serving children ages 3.5 to 5. Our indoor space is set up as an invitation to play in various corners of the child's world - creating, building, observing, pretending, writing, reading, singing, and laughing are all a big part of our day. Our outdoor classroom gives us opportunity to move, climb, run, hunt for snails, watch the clouds, get messy and keep our bodies in tune with the natural world.
The children and their families are truly what make our program unique. Each new bright idea, each step we take, is inspired by you! As the early years of learning are so important for the years of learning to come, we hope that you make your home with us at Corazón.
