About the Program:
Founded in 1967 and accredited by the American Montessori Society since 2002, Walnut Park Montessori is situated on a beautiful and historic property in a charming 19th century carriage house that accommodates six multi-age Montessori classrooms. In addition to its thoughtfully prepared classrooms, the facility offers a gymnasium, school library, gardens and newly-constructed outdoor natural playground
Students at Walnut Park complete a three-year primary program that includes a kindergarten year and instills a love of learning, before moving on to first grade at Jackson Elementary. While we focus on the child as an individual, we also create an inclusive community that promotes relationships and nurtures children spiritually, cognitively, socially, emotionally and physically. Because we believe diversity enriches the environment for everyone, we welcome children with a wide array of interests, temperaments, and learning styles. Our families come from many ethnic, religious and socioeconomic backgrounds.
