Joyful Hearts Preschool | Paper Pinecone
Details
Facility Type:
Preschool
About the Program:
Fairwood Community United Methodist Church (FCUMC) believes that a quality preschool built on the principle of God’s love (based on the teachings of Jesus Christ), developmentally-appropriate practices and an anti-bias approach to curriculum prepares children to thrive in our very diverse world. Joyful Hearts Preschool, with its high ratio of teachers to children, is a welcoming place for the children of FCUMC as well as the surrounding community; including those of diverse religious, ethnic and/or socio-economic backgrounds. Joyful Hearts Preschool is an integral part of the church. The Preschool Council is accountable to the Church Council. Preschool staff, children and families will have an on-going relationship with the Pastors and congregation. The children have a sensory-rich, safe, nurturing environment developed and maintained by an educated, loving staff. The Director and teachers have a background in early childhood education. Families are encouraged to be a part of the overall program. Children will learn through play — interacting with other children and adults, using materials that appropriate for their age and ability. The curriculum allows children to explore and develop at their own pace. Children are empowered by opportunities to learn problem-solving and peaceful conflict resolution skills. At the center of daily activities is the affirmation of the individual uniqueness of each child, a celebration of diverse cultures and religions, and a demonstration of God’s love for all of his creation.
