About the Program:
In 2012, Neighborhood House was invited to provide preschool education to low-income children living in or near the Home Forward's new Stephens Creek Crossing housing development. We knew locating the Center near affordable housing would be ideal for our early childhood programming, as it would allow our staff the frequent contact with families necessary to actively engage them in their children's education.
Today, our Children's Center aims to better prepare these children for a successful transition to kindergarten. High-quality early childhood education, including parent engagement, has been proven to mitigate poverty-related risk factors and increase the likelihood children will succeed in school.
