About the Program:
Sammy’s House is a nonprofit agency that provides services for children with and without special needs. We operate a child development center, a respite care program, summer camp and family support services to fill the gaps in services for children, especially those who are medically fragile and/or developmentally delayed in the Austin, TX and surrounding area.
At Sammy’s House, we believe that all children have the ability to learn and be active contributors to their communities. We provide an inclusive space that offers all children the tools and opportunities to learn, grow and thrive while reaching their individual goals.
At Sammy’s House, learning is nestled in a creative environment that fosters development in gross motor and fine motor skills, social-emotional, self-help, cognitive and language development. In order to cultivate development and provide high-quality care, we keep our child-to-adult ratios low, allowing for personalized care and following individualized curriculum in a group setting.
Informal assessment ensures that all curricula and activities are developmentally appropriate to encourage a positive learning experience. Curricula are designed in conjunction with the family and Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) providers and/or private therapists. In addition to personal curricula, learning is woven into fun and creative monthly themes to make learning meaningful. Group activities promote social development. Enrichment programs for all children includes art, music, sign language, G-tEE Literacy and G-tEE Science.
