About the Program:
The Early Childhood Education Centers (ECECs) provide 100 children, ages 18 months to 5 years, with a nurturing environment that focuses on social, emotional and cognitive development. We offer two locations: La Guarderia and Centro de Alegria. During 2015 and 2016, the ECECs were selected to participate in the piloting of the Race to the Top Early Learning Challenge Grant. ECEC classrooms were evaluated each year in seven areas. Overall, the ECECs scored 4 out of 5 in the evaluations – a high score. To produce more authentic parent engagement, each of the ECECs’ classrooms is now implementing monthly workshops with parents in order to support more direct parent/teacher participation in each child’s education and to more intentionally foster strong parent/school partnerships.
