About the Program:
Tillamook is a cooperative preschool that offers a play-based curriculum where children can explore, discover and learn through play. Through a variety of active and quiet activities, children foster positive self-concepts and strong socialization between other children and adults. Through play, children learn about the world outside their own family, have positive separation from their families for a short time, and become excited about school and learning. In a play-based environment, with the support of our teacher, Anette, and parent helpers, the children build self-esteem, learn to make choices, negotiate conflicts and be respectful of others. We have two classes, a T/Th class and a MWF class. Both classes are mixed age 2 and 2/3 to 5 and 1/2. Children who turn 3 in December of each year are welcome to apply. We hold a lottery in the beginning of March to fill our classes for Fall. We usually have an Open House each February. The school year runs September to May.
