About the Program:
Children are the future’s greatest resource. Therefore, at One World Montessori, we believe our greatest contribution to the community and our world is through service to children.
Montessori is an approach to education with the fundamental belief that a child learns best within a social environment which supports and respects each individual’s unique development.
The Montessori approach offers a broad vision of education as an aid to life. It is designed to help children with their task of inner construction as they grow from childhood to maturity. It succeeds because it draws its principles from the natural development of the child. Its flexibility provides a matrix within which each individual child’s inner directives freely guide the child toward wholesome growth.
The ultimate goal of Montessori education is to help children become self-motivated, independent, and life-long learners. Montessori education is characterized by multi-age classrooms, a special set of educational materials, student-chosen work in long time blocks, a collaborative environment with student mentors, absence of grades and tests, and individual and small group instruction in academic and social skills.
Our mission is to provide a safe, nurturing, creative learning environment for the “whole person” to become happy, independent, contributing members of society. We aim to provide the complete development of the child’s character emotionally, intellectually, physically, socially, and morally.
