About the Program:
My name is Jessica and I operate this full-time daycare in my home in outer Southeast Portland, in the Lents area. Our home is on a large lot, with a backyard designed for exploring. We have a big garden with a dog, chickens, and a treehouse. This environment is tailored to be an extension of your home, with a focus on social play-based learning and exposure to the natural world. I’m a parent, and prior teacher, so I understand how tough and stressful finding quality childcare can be, but I strive to make the process comfortable, informative and ultimately, easy.
My current hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30am until 5:30pm. I provide breakfast, lunch and snacks, and coffee or tea for parents at drop-off. My standard rate is $200 per week and includes full-time weekday care with one Saturday every month, because #selfcare is important! I can also provide secondary care on weekends or evenings, depending on the need.
I’m awaiting the inspection to receive licensing as a Registered Family Childcare in the state of Oregon, so I’m currently designated as an Exempt Provider. I’m CPR & First Aid Certified, and enrolled in the Central Background Registry. I have an extensive background in Early Childhood Education and Development, including specific study in Special Education. Given that background, our home is a place of kindness and respect, with open communication and a focus on information accessibility.
Toilet Independence Requirements:
I'm happy to take kiddos who aren't yet using the toilet.
