About the Program:
Founded in 1994 as a community amenity for the residents of Circle C Ranch, the Circle C Child Development Center has grown to provide nationally recognized childcare programs to residents of its immediate community and families throughout Southwest Austin. Its main campus on La Crosse Ave. serves children as young as eight weeks through age five. With one of the lowest teacher turnover rates in the child care industry, the CDC’s early childhood programs consistently provide families and children with an unparalleled level of personalized care.
Through the years, the Circle C CDC have developed partnerships with AISD, resulting in unique inclusion programs. These partnerships also include after school activities and summer camps for school-age children at surrounding Elementary Schools. The Circle C Child Development Center is a private, not-for-profit company with a volunteer board of directors. It is independent of the Circle C Ranch Homeowners Association. The Center and its programs are funded by tuition, fees and fundraising. Because of its unique history as part of the Circle C Ranch neighborhood’s master plan, the Circle C CDC is the only licensed child care facility of its kind in Texas.
Creative Curriculum® for Infants, Toddlers & Twos helps our teachers and caregivers to foster nurturing daily routines and meaningful experiences that meet children’s strengths, interests, and needs. With the support of the curriculum, teachers focus on developing children’s curiosity, support them to feel secure, and create a language-rich environment full of warm, loving, and meaningful interactions. This is what helps build the foundation for children’s future success in school and in life. The curriculum focuses on daily experiences, offering guidance on engaging children in playing with toys, imitating and pretending, enjoying books and stories, creating with art, and much more. Our teachers and caregivers are intentional about the daily experiences they provide, and they individualize for each child as they respond to the changing interests, abilities, and needs of the children in their care.
The Creative Curriculum® for Preschool, a comprehensive, research-based curriculum, features exploration and discovery as a way of learning, enabling children to develop confidence, creativity, and lifelong critical-thinking skills. We’ve chosen this curriculum because it focuses on the skills and knowledge that are most important for helping children to be successful in school. Throughout the year, The Creative Curriculum® for Preschool supports teachers planning of learning experiences that are just right for each child, so that he or she can make progress at his or her own pace. The Creative Curriculum® for Preschool is based on 38 objectives for development and learning that focus on all the areas that are most important for school success: social - emotional, cognitive, math, literacy, physical, language, social studies, science and technology, and the arts.
