About the Program:
OUR MISSION is to provide an enriched learning environment where children with speech, language, and learning differences can reach their full potential and develop skills necessary to succeed in future educational settings.
Texas Language Learning Alternatives, Inc. (dba Capitol School of Austin) is a private, non-profit option for children with speech, language, and learning differences. Established in 1990, CSA is Austin’s first and only private, specialized program for children with primarily language-based learning differences.
CSA students have average or above-average learning potential, but are at risk for failure in traditional settings, because they process information differently than their peers. CSA addresses these differences by integrating both therapy and preschool/school-age curriculum to maximize each child’s potential. The low student to teacher ratio and individualized attention allow our therapists and teachers to infuse language development and remediation into every aspect of a student’s day.
Our dedicated staff provides a personalized approach which focuses on each student's strengths and individual development. CSA’s language program is directed and staffed by masters-level licensed Speech Language Pathologists or Special Education teachers (most hold masters degrees), and is designed to provide intensive speech, language, and learning services. Most Speech Pathologists hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech and Hearing Association and all are licensed by the State of Texas. Individual and small group therapy is also available through The Children’s Clinic at Capitol School of Austin.
Capitol School of Austin is not an appropriate placement for children with significant social challenges due to autism or emotional/behavioral disorders.
